Zune HD review – an appealing alternative, not better than Touch

thumbnail
Microsoft Zune was a good alternative to the Apple iPod. Now, Microsoft launched new – Zune HD, which is only one alternative to Apple iPod Touch in terms of pricing and beauty. The 16GB model of the Zune HD costs $219 and 32GB Zune HD costs $289. If you have continuously used the Apple iPod then you might need some time to become familiar with Zune HD. The HD has totally different user interface from iPod. There is main menu that shows Quickplay menu, album art and screen. We are disappointed to know that there is no dedicated physical volume control button on the Zune HD. We agree that onscreen volume icons are easier to use than virtual volume slider at first-generation iPod Touch. However, it is difficult to adjust the volume while listening music, especially when the Zune HD is in your pocket. 3.3 inches glass-covered capacitive touch screen is located on the front of Zune HD. You can swipe your finger or press your fingertip to control  [...]

Samsung LN26B360 – Best picture quality in this size range

thumbnail
There are a lot of LCD panels for this category of small TVs and among the many that we have reviewed; we found that Samsung LN26B360 is the best in picture quality. The black level performance is commendably and it leads in other areas too. The downside is that it lacks features that you expect to find in such TVs and it’s also a bit expensive as compared to competition. If money is not a question for you and if you want the best picture quality in this size, we would recommend you this TV. Samsung LN26B360’s menu system and remote are both simplified and smaller as compared to its larger siblings. The options are the same that you get in Toshiba's AV502U series but the interface is more user friendly. Keys are differentiated by color and size and it has all the buttons that you’d expect. On the menu, the layout and the simple icons are just the same as higher end models and we really liked it. There is a Tools menu which offers quick access  [...]

Lexmark Impact S305 review – Excellent printing speed and great quality

thumbnail
Lexmark continues to manufacture budget-friendly multifunction printer. The best example is latest Lexmark Impact S305. We could not say that it is an All-In-One printer, because it does not include fax function. However, it can copy, scan and print at impressive speeds. The Impact S305 costs $99 and provides fast printing speed and solid quality as compared to others in its price range. It does not have an extra-ordinary design, but it will provide satisfactory performance. The control panel is located on the front of Lexmark Impact S305. You can rotate the panel or keep it fix on the body. You will find setup key and power button on the top left, whereas black/color toggle, start and stop buttons sits on the top right. 2 inches LCD display of Lexmark Impact S305 sits in the center of control panel. Samsung HMX-R10 HD review – Lots of shooting features

thumbnail
Samsung camcorders may not be as good as JVC, Panasonic, Sony and Canon with the quality but the manufacturer is trying hard to make a good impression. Its latest attempt at this is the HMX-R10 HD which is compact in size and is reasonably priced for the full HD camcorder category. It gives you variety of shooting features and to make wearing the camcorder a bit more comfortable, Samsung angles the camcorders lens at twenty five degrees in order to relieve your wrist strain. If you are comfortable shooting this way then all is well but we would recommend you to check it out before you buy it. In all, the Samsung HMX-R10 HD is a good point and shoot camcorder, the quality may not be as good as prosumer units but is definitely better than pocket mini camcorders. We had mixed thoughts about the controls, they weren’t good but didn’t feel that bad either. On the top of the Samsung HMX-R10 HD there is a shutter release button and nothing else. Back  [...]
