BlackBerry Curve 8330 Review

thumbnail
This one for sure has got a lot of goodies along with it. For the starters, this one comes loaded with GPS to support Sprint navigation. Since Sprint navigation is an add on service, the user could always use Google maps and other Google services in case he does not want too spend on the add on feature. The missing feature in this one as I mentioned earlier is the Wi-Fi, however this is EV-DO capable. It offers data speeds of around 300Kbps -600 Kbps and can also blow up to 2.4 Mbps. This speed should be more than enough for a decent net surfing experience. The Curve offers a lot of Multimedia features in collaboration with Sprint like the Sprint TV and the Sprint Video and the Sprint music store. Also the inbuilt media player supports various formats like the MP3, WMA, AAC, AAC+, eAAC+, AMR-NB, and MIDI music files, and MPEG4, WMV, and H.263 video clips. Apple TV: Hobby Turning Into Real Game???

thumbnail
Apple has always been describing its TV lineup as just another hobby and now it has cut off the 40GB model and also brought down the price of the 160GB model by around $100. So what could this exactly mean?? Is Apple planning to end its TV lineup( it has a lot of fans) or is it just devicing some other plan to take it to a different level altogether. The Apple’s site still has the 160GB model listed and also it offers a new software upgrade to its users. With the help of this software, the users can create movie wish lists and watch their favourite regional movies with subtitles. This software can be checked for by the Apple TV and it will download it automatically. However Apple has always maintained that the combined category of TV and media players is still a hobby. Also this combined genre faces tough competition from the cable set boxes and according to most analysts Apple is going through the same phase as Microsoft went through once upon a time with its Windows  [...]

Android Browser Gets Masked

thumbnail
Well imagine you want to fiddle around with your company’s firewall settings… what’s the first thing on your mind?? Well it would surely be browsing the net anonymously. While this is possible to achieve using a computer, however it was a tad bit of an impossible task to achieve using the android phone. But with the collaboration of the open source anonymity network Tor, this has been made possible by the experts at the University of Cambridge. This is possible using the: TorProxy: It is a Tor client and it handles all the communication with the Tor network. Any application can push its data through it and remain anonymous. Shadow: The built in Android browser cannot be configured with the TorProxy and this browser takes its place. All that you have to do is install both of them and then probably wait for the proxy to make the connections and then just blow up the browser. This is just  [...]

HP Mini 311: The Gamers Netbook

thumbnail
Expect HP to come up with pleasant surprises at the most unexpected times. HP has announced the launch of the Mini 311 which is loaded with Nvidia’s Ion graphics processing unit which marks the entry of  HP into the Graphics enabled gaming netbooks following the Acer Revo and Samsung N510. The inclusion of the Nvidia Ion means that this one could easily play a 1080p video and could make a decent attempt at gaming. A game of Batman: Arkham asylum could be played decently on this one, obviously with reduced details. According to the people at Nvidia the Ion enabled nettop balances power in a much better way as compared to the Ultra-Low Voltage segment  offered in the markets by the likes of MSI X-Slim and Samsung X-series. According to Jeff Fisher head of the GPU department at Nvidia this move by HP is surely going to create huge waves in a market where just until the last month, netbooks were considered to be inappropriate for  [...]
