Review Of The Samsung UN55B8000 LCD TV

thumbnail
This LED –based LCD TV, also called LED TV by the company, is marketed as a class apart from its contemporaries based on the presence of a 240 –Hz processor as the distinguishing factor for pricing it high. Well, don’t get excited about this feature and start viewing the gadget as something truly distinctive because the 240- Hz processor might not be a highly valued addition according to me. This is because the problems that are associated with picture quality, uniformity, deep black levels are still persistent. They may be actually due to very thin panels. Even with all this, the picture quality is good as you might expect most Samsung products to be. - xa2i6ksy9p This LCD TV looks really chic with its ultra thin bodies. Mount it on the wall or make it stand on an equally stylish stand, this TV’s going to add to the style of your house. Apart from that it saves up a lot of space in your house which is otherwise taken up by bulky electronic gadgets. The UN55B8000 is a big looker  [...]

Review Of The Averatec D1133 All-In-One

thumbnail
Low Price and compromisable performance- if this is alright with you, the D1133 is the best for you. Maybe if you are a hobbyist computer user who uses it only occasionally, you can go for this. Though slower as per computer benchmarks, if you compare the D1133 to other Nettops which use Intel’s Atom chip you’ll find that it is faster owing to the AMD Athlon X2 CPU. The screen is however smaller than that of a recent Lenovo version. A self contained computer, it’s not as robust as the budget desktops in its performance. In design the D1133 resembles the D1100.The flexible LCD display can be adjusted for your comfort. You can even tilt it to a horizontal position so that it’s parallel to your tabletop. Well, at present such flexibility without a touch screen doesn’t seem to be of much benefit.  But the LCD is too good for the given price! You might say that the Lenovo  C300 Screen, being 20 inches,  is bigger, but do you know that the resolution of the Lenovo Nettop is only  [...]

Review Of Panasonic Lumix DMC-ZR1 – Black

thumbnail
Essentially a compact megazoom camera, the Panasonic Lumix DMC-ZR1 is quite similar to the older versions of the genre on the outside. The inside is revamped of course. The auto-focused ultra-compact lens with a wide angled coverage and 8 times the normal zoom and reengineered optical image stability yields high quality photographs. The camera is a speedy performer too. Given the presence of a   long 8 X mega lens, you might find the camera disproportionately small. You generally expect the lens to be thick as its mega zoom, but you’ll be surprised to see that this has an ultra-thin megazoom lens of 0.3 mm thickness which keeps the body light. Though the hues of silver, blue, black and red for the body are impressive, this phone is no stunning beauty. One-handed shooting is made convenient with a well rounded right side. The camera works well especially the zoom output is good. I didn’t have to spend hours reading the camera manual for operating it for the first time. The controls  [...]

Review Of Sony Cyber- Shot DSC WX1

thumbnail
How many cameras have you come across that can shoot well in dim light even without a flash? I haven’t seen many. The Sony Cyber- shot DSC WX1 is one of those that have achieved this to an impressive degree. A novel sensor design, sophisticated lens and a speedy image processor help it do that. You get good snaps fast, but you’d better be complacent with that. Those of you expecting high quality images might be disappointed. The technological infrastructure of the WXI is simply amazing - so much in such a small and lightweight body. The Exmor R CMOS sensor and G f2.4 wide-angle lens give it the same capabilities as the HX1. The sensor and G lens quality are the same as the dSLR and prosumer camcorder. The controls are laid on the rear of the camera and are neatly organized. You can hold the camera with a single hand but there’s no chance for pressing buttons or dial mode changers accidentally. The power, shutter release and high speed shooting buttons on top make essential handling  [...]

Review Of The Samsung M240 Cell Phone

thumbnail
This one comes loaded with a 500-entry phonebook which can have several phone number entries along with an e-mail address, an IM handle, a street address, a birthday, a job title and company, and notes. The callers can easily be categorized into groups and the each entry can be paired with a polyphonic caller tune entry. The other features that tis one offers are a calculator, alarmclock, vibrate mode, currency calculator, notepad, voice memo recorder and voice dialing. The major drawback for this one is that it doesn’t come along with Bluetooth facility. Being a phone basically for communication I expected this one to have Bluetooth compatibility atleast for talking when driving. For sheer entertainment this one comes loaded with demo versions of three Java games primarily the Downtown Texas Hold 'Em, Brain Exercise, Super Street Fighter. The call quality offered by this one is pretty much decent though not really astounding. The call quality was mediocre and the sound was  [...]

Review Of The Philips BDP3000 Blu Ray Player

thumbnail
Most of the first generation Blu-Ray discs provide little more than the pin sharp HD, and here we have the Philips BDP3000 which is loaded with features which including even downloading of discs from BD live. Apart from the low price, sleek and gloss structure and the disc tray which is hidden below the hood this one has loads to offer in terms of high definition pictures. I agree that this one is a budget player, but that in anyway does not explain the cumbersome catering of the BD live service. It can easily stream content from live portals but again it does not have any onboard storage space to store the commentaries or the trailers. Given that fact that there is no onboard storage the importance of the USB 2.0 comes more into the picture. It can be easily fitted with a 2 GB memory stick and all the downloaded content can be easily stored into the stick. Surprisingly enough this one doesn’t have any facility using which the user can include widgets to access the brand’s VeiraCast  [...]
