HP Pavilion Slimline s5120y – outdated computer

thumbnail
HP Pavilion Slimline s5120y costs around $450, which is not worthy after considering its slow performance, limited features and some design gaffes. The Slimline model is out-dated computer like Dell Inspiron 537s. HP is the first company to bring the slim-tower concept to the market. Now, the Gateway has also adopted the same concept. The older HP Slimline models did not have additional external drive port. Before Slimline series, the previous HP models had a Pocket Media removable hard-drive port at the bottom. HP has removed the Pocket Media Drives and it is probably due to lack of customer enthusiasm. This gives you more free space inside the cabinet for upgrades. HP Pavilion Slimline s5120y has 2.7GHz Athlon dual-core processor that provides good performance. It has 500GB hard-drive, which is smaller as compared to 640GB hard drive in Gateway SX2800-01. After looking at all the ports located on backside and front-side, anyone can say that HP  [...]

Panasonic Viera TC-P54Z1 – Thinnest and Luxury Plasma TV

thumbnail
Panasonic TC-PV10 was our favorite in plasma TVs. Now, Panasonic come up with TC-P54Z1, which is the most expensive TV to date, by the company. The TC-P54Z1 is one inch deep is one-inch deep panel and has wireless capability which is the reason behind its high cost. The Z1 is a good combination of style, picture quality and features, which is enough to earn high scores. Panasonic deserves the credit for presenting a great plasma art in all its models, especially in the TC-P54Z1 and TC-PV10 series. The design and most of the features are same in TC-P54Z1 and TC-PV10 series. The included wireless access tuner box has a size like standard Blu-ray player or DVD. Wireless transmitter looks like small antenna. Moreover, wireless receiver sits on the rear-side of the TV panel and glances out beneath its left-side. This receiver increases the TV depth by one-inch. Remote control of Panasonic TC-P54Z1 communicates with tuner box through radio frequencies,  [...]

LG 47SL80 – Stylish energy-saver with poor performance

thumbnail
LG has launched its SL80 series of thin-panel and slim-bezel models. The LG SL80 series has sleek, compact and stylish design. The HDTVs of this range are highlighted with glossy glass-screen on the front. The LG 47SL80 lacks extensive and interactive features as found on other TVs in same price range. Its picture quality is short and there are some blacks on picture, which are not deep. The glass screen of SL80 reflects ambient light. If you prefer a good design and can compromise on these issues, we will recommend you to go ahead for this panel. LG has improved the remote for its high-end SL80 series. The remote has more spacious, backlit and logically grouped buttons. We appreciated that most of the functions had dedicated keys except that for aspect ratio. However, the similar shape and sizes of all the keys do not look good from ergonomic standpoint. You can press “Energy Saving” button to provide energy-saving graphics on the HDTV. The remote  [...]

Samsung Jack – needs improvement

thumbnail
Samsung Jack is the successor of its BlackJack series. In addition to changed name, this smartphone has better camera, faster processor, more memory, new features and fresh updated look. The Jack also has better email support and productive applications as compared to its predecessor. It gave excellent call quality. Samsung Jack costs $99.99 with two-year contract from AT&T. However, we recommend you Nokia E71x from AT&T as this phone has the same price with very good look, better user experience and more features. The Jack has some issues that you might want to know before purchasing it. Let us have a look on new Samsung Jack from AT&T. Samsung Jack has 2.4-inch LCD display which gives a 320×240 pixels resolution and supports 65,000 colors. The display is bright and clear, but gives same look as that of RIM BlackBerry Curve 8900. You can change the background images and themes of the Home Screen. Samsung’s Jack does not have  [...]

Nikon Coolpix S640 – With wide-angle lens and plenty of options

thumbnail
Nikon Coolpix S640 is priced at $239.95 that is $50 more than the price of S570. The S640 offers optical image stabilization, improved performance and extra options for shooting. The Coolpix S640 continues to have same 5x zoom similar to its predecessors. The S640 is an ultra-compact camera with 28mm equivalent wide-angle lens. However, the camera does not have HD-quality video mode. We recommend Nikon Coolpix S640 if you need an ultra-compact camera with good basic features. Despite having wide-angle lens, its aperture comes down to f6.6 on zooming out that makes the low-light shots iffy. This is acceptable on S570 because of the low price, but we won’t accept the Nikon Coolpix S640. The flash bulb is located on top left side and you will have to take care while positioning you finger, or else you may block it. Nikon Coolpix S640 has standard controls, which are easy to get used to. The shutter release buttons, zoom control and power button  [...]

Dell Inspiron Mini 10 – Entry-level Netbook with various configuration options

thumbnail
Dell is a famous and strong name in the Netbook market. It has a revamped design and is powered by Intel Atom CPU. We thank the Dell’s work to offer various configuration options at reasonable price. The Inspiron Mini 10 costs around $369 that is greater than the Z-series Intel Atom models. Mini 10 has small-sized 10-inch screen, Windows 7, Bluetooth and six-cell battery. Dell doesn’t offer HD display in the Mini 10. Dell has announced to offer another Mini 10 series with inbuilt HD video accelerator, which could work similarly to Nvidia Ion graphics. Acer Ferrari and Asus 1201 Netbooks has HD Displays, it comes with dual-core processor which make the device run faster. The Mini 10 has a cramped keyboard, SD display and the processor is sluggish, so there is not much in here to get excited about. But you can configure the system according to your needs. Earlier, Netbook keyboards were designed badly and troublesome for small hands. We  [...]

Hitachi DZ-BD10HA – Low Featured Decent HD Blu-ray Camcorder

thumbnail
Convenience with extra features takes the consumers from older technology to the latest one available in the market. When we talk about the camcorders, a camcorder has to support the customers preferred format. Believing the same, Hitachi’s DZ-BD 10HA Blu-ray Camcorder is the most convenient one we have ever seen. A newly developed 7 mega pixel CMOS image sensor captures rich and vibrant videos and stills in FullHD (1920 x 1080) High Definition. The new DZ-BD10HA can record up to 4hours 20 minutes of 1920x1080 video or 8 hours 40 minutes of 1440x1080 video onto the built-in 30 GB HDD. The built-in SDHC card slot provides additional flexibility by allowing for Full HD video and still recordings. DZ-BD 10HA can record videos to SD/SDHC Cards and to 3-inch DVD-R/RW discs. The recording flexibility of camcorder seems like novelty, however, it allows users to capture good quality videos, share them online and see them on TV. There are composite AV jacks,  [...]

THE SABOTEUR- An Avenge to Save Life and Country

thumbnail
The Sabotuer is a game based on Word War II like other dozen games, which are good recipe for boredom. However, The Saboteur is not a war game otherwise it is a story of personal vengeance about an incident happens in Paris during Word War II. This game includes 1940s trappings, old fashioned weapons, painful opponent and monotonous setting but it has only a few common with Word War II. The game is free roaming adventure game with a mission structure like that of Grand Theft Auto. Once we cover the clash between real war and over the top portrayal, The Saboteur seems to be a good time. The release of this game is one of the good surprises of 2009. The Sabotuer games claims to be based on a true story revolving around Irishman racing car driver, Sean Devlin who accidentally gets involved in the struggle between Nazis and British Government and then forced to flee to Paris after the war breaks out. In Paris, Sean occupied himself in drink and  [...]
