Star Battalion – Plenty of game play variations

thumbnail
Star Battalion is an iPhone which costs $6.99. It is an arcade type shoot-‘em-up flying game having great visuals and actions. The single player campaign is solid and will keep your entertained for hours as you blow the bad guys away. There are plenty of characters to choose from and each has their own unique skills. You can choose one and engage it in chaotic dog fights or you can take to the skies to some cool flying missions. You can calibrate the iPhone before every level for getting the most out of the touch screen and tilt controls. For throttling, you have to use the slider on the right and tilting steers the ship. For advanced maneuvers like rolling a barrel, you need to swipe finger on the screen. The game gives you directions where ever there are tricky maneuvers. I really liked the graphics in the Star Battalion, they were excellent and the pictures are optimized for the new Retina Display. Beautiful maps and complex ship models make the  [...]

Bonecruncher Soccer – Challenging and fun

thumbnail
Bonecruncher Soccer is a game quite similar to the popular Backbreaker Football; the 3D gameplay mechanic in both the games have a lot in common but with the soccer game, you have to dribble the ball down the field and then score goals by flicking your finger. The players are directed by using tilt controls, just like BackBreaker football. However, instead of the onscreen buttons for dodges and moves, you have to swipe the finger on the display for the special moves. Each of them is described when you start playing the game. Once you have dodged and dribbled your own way downfield, the game play freezes and it lets you flick the ball in to the goal. Some of the levels have targets through which you can earn bonus points and hence controlled flicks are really necessary in this game. Bonecruncher Soccer is a really good game overall but it doesn’t have the polish of the more-refined and older Backbreaker franchise. Different developers  [...]

Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm – Can get monotonous

thumbnail
Naruto Uzumaki is a cool ninja who is great while battling but it is a bit annoying. Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm is a great fighting game but it can also be lengthy and might get monotonous for you. This game is poor at story telling, item collection and exploration. In Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm, the first thing that you need to do is pick your favorite character and then dive straight in to combat. You will have to install the game before the gameplay begins. The files are of 4 GB and it will take at least ten minutes to get all the matter in the right place. Once this is done, there is the Free Battle mode which lets you choose your opponent and also the location of the fight. This is a minimum fuss and is recommended if you don’t want to play the full mode. Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm doesn’t have any tutorial option but you won’t miss it because the controls are pretty simple and you will get  [...]

Sonic Unleashed 360 – Very frustrating

thumbnail
Story of the Sonic Unleashed 360 begins when Dr. Eggman shoots the world with a big gun and the Earth breaks in to two pieces. Sonic, our hero, gets transformed in to a mean looking giant creature called werehog. The abomination occurs only after sunset and hence you get two personalities to play around with. This game has equal number of stages for both werehog and hedgehog but you will be spending most of the time at night because the combats are arduous and they take a lot of time. The levels for werehog in the Sonic Unleashed 360 are very tedious. These are divided evenly in to fighting and platforming but for me, these elements had lots of frustration instead of excitement. There are combos which can be unlocked as you go ahead in the game but you will be disappointed with the combat strategy which just need some mindless tapping of the 2 attack buttons. There is a shield for protection when things get out of control  [...]

Xbox Live Gamertags – Dos and Donts

thumbnail
Xbox Live Gamertags is your reflection in Xbox 360 community and it is really hard to come with a memorable name because there are lots of players on Live now. There are a few basics which you should remember while making a tag. Microsoft doesn’t allow racism, homophobia or profanity. Don’t try to cook up something by using letters to get escape the rules because other players will think that you are an idiot. You are recognized by the Xbox Live Gamertags and hence it doesn’t make sense to be remembered by friends by some pointless offensive names. I don’t recommend using letters in Xbox Live Gamertags as they look pretty uncool. This is ubiquitous on the Internet these days and they chatter do it a lot but you have to struggle while reading the names. Sometimes they don’t make any sense at all! Also, avoid putting ‘Noob’ anywhere near the Xbox Live Gamertags. It is just like asking other players to pwn  [...]

Batman Begins game – Lacks flexibility

thumbnail
Batman has always fascinated fans of comic books and movie fanatics alike for ages. Electronic Arts has developed Batman Begins game and it is based on the movie. Bruce Wayne starts his life as an orphaned child, slowly grows up to an angry man and finally turns in to a crime fighter. This game captures the mood and the style of the movie very well and the graphics are complemented by a lot of fun. However, once you play the game for sometime, you will realize that it lacks gameplay difficulty and flexibility. Batman Begins game has successfully translated the presentation and the look of the movie in to the game and this is clear from the opening menu itself. The first screen that you see is the movie’s animated version with bats spookily circling around Dark Knight as he menacingly stands in foreground. Electronic Arts signed up contracts with the movie actors including Michael Caine and Christian Bale to lend their voices and likenesses to this  [...]

thumbnail
No matter what age group you belong to, hearing cute animal voices is always amusing. Talking Tom Cat Nokia N900 is an app which will certainly entertain you a lot. Using the app is very easy. You just have to talk on the phone’s mic and the cat will cup his ears to show that he is listening. When you are done, the cat will imitate what you said in the typical high-pitched cute voice. I was even amused to see that the cat mouths the words when he speaks. Talking Tom Cat Nokia N900 app lets you record voice up to 30 seconds and you can also upload the content to YouTube for showing it to your friends. It can also be e-mailed. You can also interact with the cat by rubbing on his tummy through the touch screen. Tap the head of the cat on the top repeatedly and it will fall over as if he was pouched. You can also touch his feet and tail. Talking Tom Cat Nokia N900 app let you feed the animal with glass of milk. However, the main feature of the app  [...]

Alice in Wonderland (Nintendo Wii) – nice for children

thumbnail
You may remember a nice series in which a small girl falls down in a hole while sleeping then wakes up surrounded by talk animals in a small room. Yes, you are right to depict its name – Alice in Wonderland. Recently, you may have watched the similar titled movie by Tim Burton. Following the trend of making games of movies, the Alice in Wonderland game is now available for $39.99 for the Nintendo Wii. With this game, you can go through the similar experience of McGee Alice. The talking animals will engage you to play in the adventurous game while exploring the Underland, solving the puzzles and doing battle with enemies. The game stylishly renders the animals style, but there is a noticeable jarring effect while contrasting with their human counterparts. Your rolewill be of chaperone and protector of Alice. She may feel defenceless and hapless to offend the Red Queen’s army and Jabberwocky for avoiding the capture. Alice has to find the Vopral Sword for stopping the queen’s plan.  [...]

THE SABOTEUR- An Avenge to Save Life and Country

thumbnail
The Sabotuer is a game based on Word War II like other dozen games, which are good recipe for boredom. However, The Saboteur is not a war game otherwise it is a story of personal vengeance about an incident happens in Paris during Word War II. This game includes 1940s trappings, old fashioned weapons, painful opponent and monotonous setting but it has only a few common with Word War II. The game is free roaming adventure game with a mission structure like that of Grand Theft Auto. Once we cover the clash between real war and over the top portrayal, The Saboteur seems to be a good time. The release of this game is one of the good surprises of 2009. The Sabotuer games claims to be based on a true story revolving around Irishman racing car driver, Sean Devlin who accidentally gets involved in the struggle between Nazis and British Government and then forced to flee to Paris after the war breaks out. In Paris, Sean occupied himself in drink and  [...]

Assassin’s Creed II – Get this game now!

thumbnail
When Assassin Creed I came out, the graphics engine was quite similar to Prince of Persia – The Two Thrones. But we welcomed it as we couldn’t get enough of Altair jumping seamlessly on roof toops and killing with those sexy maneuvers. Assassin’s Creed II is here and they have made it even better. The improvements made in this will make you wonder why Ubisoft didn’t do all this in first title. Ubisoft made lots of money from Assassins Creed which because it was selling like hot cakes due to the eye candy put in. Our hero in this game is Ezio Auditore da Firenze, who is a spoilt 17 year old son of a wealthy banker. He spends his time and money on women and fights with local gangs in the beautiful city of Venice. However things take a turn around for the teenager when he finds out that his father isn’t just a banker. His father later on gets killed along with his sons (except Ezio, of course) and now Ezio  [...]
