Corel Digital Studio 2010 is for video enthusiasts and amateur photographers for managing digital content like videos and photos. It has four applications – WinDVD, DVD Factory, Video Studio and PaintShop Photo all put it into one which makes it an ideal package for multi media enthusiasts. This software is your solution to capturing, burning, sharing, playing and editing photos and videos.

For photo editing, there is PaintShop Photo with which you can do correction of digital pictures quite easily. You can apply effects such as sepia, B/W, antique to portraits. Fine tune option and Makeover tool are for color corrections. If you are a newbie and all these options are too convoluted for you, you can always use the Quick fix option or the Suggest button and the software does the rest for you. Standard options include red-eye removal, crop and straighten. If you have a large collection of photos then it will be hard to find locate what you want from the mob because the software doesn’t have a search function.

For creating personalized videos, there is Video Studio. To get started with the editing you will have to first get the video from mobile phone, TV tuner, webcam, camera or folder and then go ahead. You simply have to drag the videos to the bottom of the panel in the software and you can edit, split or trim it. For adding transition effects, you simple press the create button. For saving the clips you get options of 4:3 for standard definition or 16:9 for high definition. After you are done saving, you can give title to the video, save them on to a hard drive, portable player, DVD or cell phones. You can also directly share the videos with friends through Flickr, Facebook or YouTube.
DVD factory is a substitute for DVD burning soft wares like Nero or Roxio. You can burn data discs, audio discs or make movie DVDs with the help of the application. You can also save all your precious videos on the application and then locate them easily whenever you want. You get to add special effects to your clips and create DVD labels for easily recognizing your discs. You can burn MP3/video/audio discs, create backups of data, copy movies and music to portable players like iPod or cell phones or you can burn TV shows, videos directly on the disc with the help of this application.

Finally WinDVD is a player which is capable of playing all video formats like Windows Media, QuickTime, Real media and DVD. The player has support for Dolby Digital sound and can play AVCHD or HD movies. The best part of this application is the sound and the color enhancing effects which improve the quality of the movies. We were disappointed to find out that the player doesn’t have support for MKV format.

We really liked the Corel Digital Studio 2010, the four applications make photo, video editing, movie watching, etc. really cool with its user friendly interface. It is a complete multimedia package.
