Layar brings Augmented Reality masses, refuses to reveal partners
Layar is one famous manufacturer to create Augmented Reality browser. It was previously available only through Application Store of high-end smartphones like Apple iPhone and Google Android.
Now, Layar has announced the possibility to sell their experiences for publishers and producers of Augmented Reality. It has also announced the agreement with top three cell phone manufacturers for global distribution partnership. As per the company, this partnership will bring Layar equipped phone to the world market. As a result, Augmented Reality content will be available to masses on their cell phones in 2010.
Layar platform allows publishers, producers, game developers and other brands so that the customers will be engaged in real world experiences. The company has already published 375 layers and more 1200 layers are in production. More than 2000 organizations in 70 countries are taking benefits from Layar platform to develop extraordinary contents.

Layar has not revealed the names of the cell phone companies. In the middle of March 2010, Layar partners will be able to generate income from their investment in Augmented Reality. The partners can offer free and paid content via Layar platform. As per the company’s press release, Layar will facilitate global mobile payment distribution and processing in all currencies. The producers just have to focus on their contents without worrying about developing on multiple mobile platform, financial administration and mass market distribution.
