Students in UK, if you are aware of this, October 1st onwards  Microsoft will retail the all new windows 7 at a very low rate, specially for you, and this is a limited offer, so get off your asses and make a bee-line to your nearest retailer. For students in the US it has not yet been confirmed but will be sold to students for $30.

A Microsoft representative stated that the offer was designed specifically for those students who won’t be going in for new PC’s or laptops this year but would like to have the advantage of using the new windows7. The students who order the new software from the 1st of October will be able to download it on or after the 22nd October when it is officially launched to the public. But to avail of this deal, a valid, college e-mail address is required.

Similar plans are to be announced in Canada, Germany, Australia, Korea, Mexico and France, although the prices for which the windows 7 may retail will vary from country to country. Most of the offer validity also varies, for most countries it will be available till Jan 3rd while in countries like Australia the offer will be valid all the way through March.
