Nokia Launches 3 New Symbian Phones

It very well could be seen as the beginning of the end. Nokia in their latest announcement today said that they soon will be launching three all new handsets, the 600, 701 and 700. The reason why we say that this could be beginning of the end is because all these new handsets will be powered by Symbian Belle Operating System.

Nokia on Wednesday launched their new Smartphones all of which will be running on their Symbian based Belle Operating System. The Belle operating system of Nokia is their latest iteration to Nokia’s strong Symbian software. It should be known that the Nokia 600, Nokia 700, and Nokia 701 are all expected to enter the market sometime in  the third quarter of this year. The launch of all these new handsets very well could be seen as an option to keep  the buyers busy while Nokia starts rolling out their Windows Phone 7. Yes, in case you don’t know, Nokia recently partnered with Microsoft for developing new Windows Phone 7.

The all new Symbian Belle handsets vary significantly in size and processing power: while the Nokia 600 flaunts a 5 MP camera and a 3.2 in display, and is priced at $260; the Nokia 700 super-compact handset boasts an AMOLED display and also has a price tag of $390; the last one the Nokia 701 is priced at $420 and has been equipped with an 8 MP camera and a dual-LED flash, in addition to a 3.5 LCD display.

The new Nokia 600 is slated to be a hit as a low-profile smartphone that has a 5 megapixel camera and a 1 GHz processor, but doubt the success of Nokia 700 and 701, and the simple reason for that being the fact that the handsets has a dying operating system and follows the Symbian launch which flopped soundly.
