Nokia to cut down on smartphones in 2010
Finnish mobile giant, Nokia has said that it will be cutting down production of smartphones in 2010 and will be concentrating more on production of mid-range handsets.
This is done because the company is unable to compete with other smartphone giants like HTC, Apple and Research in Motion (RIM). Two Korean players – LG and Samsung are also fast emerging and are likely to go ahead of Nokia in Smartphone sales very soon. Nokia thinks they would rather focus their efforts.elsewhere rather than fighting a losing war.

Jo Harlow who is the new chief of smartphone department of Nokia, has said the production of such devices would be reduced by 50%. Nokia has even started to cut down on research and development projects in Japan and this is a clear clue that Nokia doesn’t want to lock heads with the reigning big wigs.
Nokia’s latest offering in the smartphone market was the N900 which we thought was an effort made by the company to try harder to win more customers in the market. However, some say that the market has already judged Nokia by the N97 which though was a good device, was miles behind products of its competitors.

Nokia phones are always good in mid range only. Smart phones and high end phones are not meant for Nokia. Blackberry and Sony Ericsson rocks in high end phones.
In high end only Nokia communicator is the phone which is still loved by all its users or else not that happening!
Nokia is meant for mid range only. All its features are almost similar. There is not much difference if you buy a 50$ phone or $500. Just some extra features in the costlier one.
I don’t like Nokia phones except its communicator and N-Gage. These are the phones which i always love to buy at any damn stage! Else, all its phones are just basic for me.
People prefer Nokia because all the phones are very user friendly and it is easiest to understand the phone.
The price range of Nokia’s smartphone is too high as compared to its services and features. People can get better phones than Nokia in the same price range and also in cheap sometimes.
Nokia is really good for handling and user friendly but when it comes to smartphones, I’ve never seen anyone going for Nokia
Nokia can never make smartphones. It is meant for normal GSM phones with good quality cameras and certain more features.
