Review Of Apple Magic Mouse
A very attractive looking mouse but not good in ergonomics.
Sum and Substance:
Thumbs Up:
Slim and downright sexy.
Thumbs Down:
Cannot be used for Windows.
Inside the Trunk:
The Whiz Kid Speaks:
Apple Magic Mouse is a wireless Bluetooth device which is powered by two AA Alkaline batteries; it is usable only on MAC OS. Apple Magic Mouse is 4.5 inches long, 2.3 inches wide and 0.5 inch tall.
Razzle Dazzle:
Apple has always insisted that their products must look good. Apple Magic Mouse too follows the suit. The slim mouse with no buttons looks like a lump of high quality curved aluminum. When you turn the mouse over, it looks like an turtle turned upside down.
Inside Dope:
Apple Magic Mouse is indeed magic! We were searching for buttons when this baby first landed onto our hands. But there are none on the mouse and it is all touch sensitive interface.
The right click and left click is all there on the mouse, even if it looks invisible. Scrolling is also supported and all you have to do is move your finger along the surface but there are no movable parts which give you a moon walk kind of experience.
Using the mouse was a pleasure, all you have to move your fingers on the aluminum surface. You can also zoom using this mouse, all you have to do is press the control key on the keyboard and then scroll. The mouse is not compatible with Windows, so you will need a MAC based PC if you want to use the pointer.

The mouse supports multi touch gestures which is the best part. The multi touch is present not just on the top part of the mouse where the buttons are usually exist, but the entire mouse is touch sensitive. If you swipe two fingers sideways on the mouse you will quickly navigate forward and back on the Web or while in video playback. The mouse gestures can be a pain in the neck sometimes, if you accidentally flick your finger on the mouse, the page starts scrolling but it will stop when you tap it again. The multi features on the mouse don’t have the pinch feature which means you can’t zoom in and out photos by pinching on the device.
Below the mouse is button for switching off the mouse and also a light indicator which goes in to power saving mode when it is not used for a long time and below there is a compartment for two batteries. There could have been better options like customizable mouse gestures, where in you can program the mouse to act in a specific way when you do a gesture on the mouse.
Nitty Gritty:
Apple Magic Mouse sure looks very attractive but in the end you would give more importance to ergonomics over beauty. Once the novelty wears off you will realize that your regular mouse is more comfortable to use than this one. This one does look good, but nothing can replace a mouse with physical buttons.

The idea behind it is elegant – a combination of the best elements of a mouse and track pad. You don’t have to engage a wheel to scroll, and different finger swipes instruct the mouse in a natural and intuitive way. perfect!
