Razzle Dazzle:
Logitech Wireless Mouse M505 is a bit smaller than your regular mouse which means it is made keeping in mind the portability factor. You can use this with a laptop and it won’t occupy much space in your backpack. The mouse is available in three colors – black, grey and red. We got the red one in our test centers, the red color on the surface, black color in the bottom and a white string in the bottom makes the mouse look good but there is nothing out of the box done. The last mouse which made our hair stand on the end was the Apple Magic Mouse, we were searching for buttons on it.
Inside Dope:
Logitech makes one of the best mice in the market, no doubt about that. We have hardly had any complaints with Logitech mice and keyboards. They don’t do anything extravagant, they have great ergonomics and all this is done keeping price in mind.

This mouse is a bit expensive at $50 but we think that with the single receiver feature it is worth spending the extra buck.
But let’s start with the basics; the Logitech Wireless M505 doesn’t have a thumb button that we are used to in Logitech mice. It has just two buttons with a middle scrolling wheel. The scrolling wheel is notched rather than smooth that most mice posses. We are more comfortable with the notched wheel rather than smooth one.
The right click and the left click buttons on the Logitech Wireless M505 are fine and we had no problems with them. It was easy to click and comfortable.
The Logitech Wireless M505 has a symmetrical design which makes it comfortable to use it with both hands. Left handed as well as right handed users will have no problems with the ergonomics of the mouse.
Below the Logitech Wireless M505 there are a couple of buttons. There is the laser tracking below which we found quite responsive. There is a power button in the bottom which lets you switch of the phone when you don’t need it, to save power. The pointer is powered by 2 AA batteries and Logitech claims these batteries will run up to 15 months with moderate usage. Remember that this mouse refuses to run on rechargeable batteries.
Now let’s come down to the most important feature of the Logitech Wireless M505, the receiver. The tiny chip makes it home in the battery compartment of the device. The receiver comes along with a USB plug which detects the mouse for the computer. A single plug can be used to detect all Logitech devices on the computer so you save on precious ports which are limited on the computer.
You get a USB plug with all Logitech products, so you can carry your mouse and keyboard with you and you won’t have to pair up the device all the time since you can put 2 USB plugs in office and home computer. We really liked this feature but it makes the mouse more expensive.
There is a bundled software with the Logitech Wireless M505 which is called Logitech SetPoint for Windows and Mac, it lets you do side-to-side scrolling and you can put extra functions for the middle scroll wheel.
Nitty Gritty:
Apart from the high price there is nothing bad about the Logitech Wireless M505. It has nice ergonomics; we were delighted with the unifying receiver concept. Buy this if you are short of USB ports on the computer.
