Pink Phone: So Much For The Hype

thumbnail
So finally the long kept secret of Miscrosoft’s  Pink Phone has finally been unraveled. And by the looks of it this one surely doesn’t deserve all the hype being created around it. These phones have been codenamed ‘turtle’ and ‘pure’. But frankly I guess ‘chubby’ or ‘tubby’ would have been better names. The first one i.e the Turtle resembles the Palm Pre to some extent. It comes loaded with a slide out keyboard and a nice vibrant looking screen. The other one i.e. Pure will remind of possibly every other smartphone available in the market these days. Reportedly both the phones have been targeted towards the youth. Well, by the looks of it this one doesn’t look even a bit of the iPhone killer it was being touted to be. And anyways it doesn’t  look like Microsoft really cares about being the iPhone’s challenger. So any kind of clash between the Pink phones and the iPhone looks unlikely in the near future atleast. PEACE!

thumbnail
With the thought of reviving the radio experience, Pure has launched the Sensia which is touted to do to the radio what the iphone did to the mobile. Its basically an internet connected digital audio system. It comes loaded with a 5.7 inch touchscreen display much like the iPod with the help of which the user can search over a whole load of around 12000 radio and internet stations. It also has an application with the help of which the user can access his facebook and twitter accounts. Pure aims to make listening to the radio a totally refreshing experience. Users could also connect this to an iPod dock and its also got a rechargeable battery pack with the help of which users could use it on the go and going by the claims of Pure, this pack should atleast last for twenty four hours. This one is basically a Linux based machine and keeping that in mind this one could easily be opened to do anything that the developer  [...]

Review Of The Avanquest WebEasy 8 Professional

thumbnail
This one was probably the one, most of the web designers were actually waiting for. But for all that they know, this one surely wasn’t worth the wait. This could be viewed as being too confining by most of the users and also the editing of HTML in this one is pretty much knotty and complex. The templates that are being offered are rigid as well. Amateur users will surely not welcome this one because the interface is certainly not amateur friendly as many of the tools are pretty much difficult to locate in the first place, leave alone use them. The professional version brings along with it three months of hosting and also a free subdomain, though the platinum version would be a better choice because it offers a proper domain along with hosting for a year. It lets you add photos, music, video and change backgrounds and layouts and also an option to choose from around 85,000 graphics. Also it lets you add a few Web Widgets here and there like twitter and google links.  It also  [...]

HTC Hero Firmware Upgrade: U.K Will Have To Wait

thumbnail
I had mentioned earlier during the review, that this one could definitely do with some firmware upgrades, looks like the makers at High Tech Computers are listening with intent ears. HTC has announced the launch of a new firmware upgrade which claims to solve most of the problems that the Hero bought along wit it. Though the HTC hero was loaded with the brilliant Sense UI it did face some lags during functioning which was one of the major glitches because of which it was almost written off by most critics in comparision to the iPhone. The upgrades have already been launched in Denmark, Sweden and Norway and have received some really good reviews, with most of the users being content with the speed upgrades and the camera software upgrades. HTC has also confirmed the UK launch will take place sometime in the near future, however it hasn’t provided us with any exact date as such.  Also the people at HTC refused to let us have  [...]

Review Of The Samsung Tocco Lite S5230 Cell Phone

thumbnail
Though Samsung has compromised on quite a few features with this one it has retained the TouchWiz UI like in the others from the Tocco family and the Jet. The interface can easily be managed by swiping the finger over the screen. This one being more of a resistive display, doesnot have the smart multi-touch feature. The 3 buttons on the standby screen are for stimulating the numberpad, the contact book and the main menu. The numbers on the numberpad have been comfortably placed to avoid any mispresses and it well quite succeeds in achieving this. The phonebook can be used to find a number in three ways. Either swiping down through the whole list or directly typing the name on the search bar. The other option that it offers is searching through sections letter by letter. It also has an option of photo contacts, using which all your recent contacts photos will pop up on the screen in a grid like fashion and all you have to do is click on the photo to make a call. Coming to messaging…  [...]

thumbnail
Imagine... you have an urgent meeting to attend but are stuck in the traffic and you iPhone conks off because of low battery. Well I guess most of us are quite familiar with this kind of a helpless scenario. And now for all those people who ve been harrowed with such experiences and for the few who want to avoid such situations totally the Case-Mate brings in some much needed relief. You can charge your iPhone while on the move using this snug charger. This one has a soft pleasant plasticky feel too it which doesn’t make it feel cheap or tacky in anyway. It’s basically combines the conventional holster along with a chargeable battery. This one measures 4.4 x 2.0 x 0.5 and slides in with much ease into the pocket. Also it could be easily hooked onto the belt with the help of a 180 degree rotating swivel ratchet. It weighs around 3.2 ounces making it a bit clunky and along with the iPhone it weighs around 7.9 ounces. That’s pretty much bulky, but then that’s just some price you  [...]
