Good news for all the social networking fans. LG has finally announced the GW300- a budget QWERTY phone which is specially designed to bring social networking to the masses. This new phone being launched by LG will be offered in the UK by O2 and Orange. O2 will be launching the light blue model and Orange gets to lay its hands on the bright red version. LG has definitely come up with phones having better feature sets in the past. This one has a 2 megapixel camera and a 2.4 inch QVGA screen. Its got a 3.5mm headphone jack and the memory can be expanded with the help of a microSD card upto 4GB. It comes along with 900mAh battery which again is not that impressive because that would definitely mean that the user will have to charge it again and again. This one has got a designated application which supports updates to your facebook profile and also see the status updates of others as well. Zune HD which is going to be launched on September 15th will be an only U.S release. According to insiders from Microsoft, there are no plans to launch the Zune anywhere outside the U.S. The launch is going to be stateside atleast for the time being. There are also plans to launch the Zune video, a video download software in around 18 markets. Even when the Zune HD was not even named there were rumours that the new hardware would be international. But looking at the way things are taking shape at the moment, that seems unlikely. For those with a strong memory the older zune didn’t see a launch beyond Canada which took place almost two years after its launch in the U.S.

Well, the only reason I see behind this is that probably the people at Microsoft want to test the Zune on a small ground and then take the launch ahead if it is successful. Well all I hope is that this one does well, and we get to see an overseas launch soon.

Good news for all the fans of the all-in-on PC range. Shuttle has launched its new X500V and the whole machine measures hardly 3.6 cms. It’s a touchscreen which is like the latest trend in vogue, even for computers. Unlike the others in the X500 range this comes preloaded with a different OS i.e. Linux or the openSUSE 11.1to be precise. This latest Linux offering from the company comes in two colours black and pearl white along with the not so uncommon Intel Atom 330 processors, 1 GB DDR2 memory, a 160 GB hard disk and has a 15.6-inch touchscreen (with a resolution of 1366x768). And yeah it does have the same old speakers and wecam and 1.3 megapixel camera.

Of what we ve got to know, the unit comes with a Gigabit Ethernet port along with a 802.11n WiFi along 5 USB ports and 1 VGA port.
