21st of September is the day when Music is going to change forever. No no, I aint trying to be dramatic here… that’s just what the Sony Ericsson website has to say. Well the website has surely sent music lovers into a state of trance and we here are Techsoft are trying to explicitly figure out what Sony Ericsson wants to say with “Change music forever”.

The buzz doing the rounds is that this could be the first touchscreen walkman or probably even the Android powered Rachael. But the possibility of it being the first one seems to be more likely because it says “ Change music forever “.

Sony has already branded it as the “new ground breaking technology”. Its surely got all the techies and the music lovers excited but all I could hope for is that this isn’t another launch gimmick for some other music accessory. LOL. With all the hype being created around it if this one turns to be a music accessory then it would seriously be a big blooper.

Lead guitarist of Radiohead, Ed O’Brien voiced his displeasure over the government’s decision to bring illegal downloading to an end. This doesn’t come in as much of a surprise because most of the members of the Featured Artists Coalition have the same to say.

According to O’Brien, this move by the government will do nothing much than creating a rift between music and music fans. Plus he also added that file sharers will continue doing it by hook or by crook irrespective of the steps that the government plans to take in this direction. He also cited the example of a friend of his who has been sharing music files for more than six years without paying a single penny for the music.

This opinion is being strongly echoed throughout the Featured Artists Coalition with almost everyone being against this move. According to another member of the FAC, Dave Rowntree (drummer of blur) it would just add up to making enemies of their fans. The solution that Ed O’Brien puts through is to try to monetize these moves i.e. the file sharing activities so that it doesn’t add upto huge losses and also keeps the music lovers satisfied.

Finally on Thursday morning Motorola CEO Sanjay Jha announced the launch of its first android phone at the Mobilize conference 09’ held in San Francisco.

Formerly rumoured to be known as the Morrison this one will be introduced by T mobile later this fall during the holiday period. It will be sold worldwide as the Motorola Dext and T-mobile will be launching it in two colours: titanium and winter white.

Standing at 4.49 inches tall by 2.28 inches wide by 0.62 inch thick this one weighs 5.6 ounces. It comes loaded with a 3.1-inch HVGA touch screen with a 320×480 pixel resolution and for all the music lovers, it also has a 3.5mm headphone jack.

This new entrant into the Android arena offers access to various Google services.

It also supports a number of email clients like Yahoo, Windows Live and the other POP3 and IMAP services and it also has the QuickOffice Suite for document processing.

It’s got a 5 megapixel camera along with video recording capabilities. It is also 3G compatible and offers Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and GPS connectivity.

The thing that sets it apart from the rest of the Android phone clan is the Motoblur interface. What is impressive about the Motoblur is that it streams all your information from Facebook, Twitter and the other email accounts and automatically updates it onto your home screen. This avoids the constant opening and closing of applications. Though it’s a pretty decent feature what is left to be seen is how helpful will it be to the user of the phone. Hopefully this one doesn’t just turn out to be a clutter of updates on the screen. The specs are impressive enough though not astoundingly awesome, sanguinely this one stands out amongst the other Android phones.
